Deuteronomy 31: God Goes With You Collin Leong. September 19, 2026 (v1-8) Change Of Leadership (v1-3) So Moses continued to speak these words to all Israel. And he said to them, "I am 120 years old today. I am no longer able to go out and come in. The LORD has said to me, 'You shall not go over this Jordan.' The LORD your God will go over before you. He will destroy these nations before you, so that you shall dispossess them, and Joshua will go over at your head, as the LORD has spoken." Exp: Moses at that time was 120 years old. "No longer able to go out and come in" is a Hebrew idiom meaning he no longer has the strength or capacity to lead the people in their daily movements - whether in battle, administration, or guiding them in and out of camp. The phrase signals the end of his role and the beginning of Joshua’s leadership, who will “go over at your head” (v3) . Beyond physical weakness, God had already told Moses he would not enter the land (Num 2...

September 15, 2026 (v1-10) Repentance and Forgiveness (v1-3) "And when all these things come upon you, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before you, and you call them to mind among all the nations where the LORD your God has driven you, and return to the LORD, you and your children, and obey his voice in all that I command you today, with all your heart and with all your soul, then the LORD your God will restore your fortunes and have mercy on you, and he will gather you again from all the peoples where the LORD your God has scattered you." Exp: Moses is telling them not to give up their faith, even if God himself discipline them by exiling to other nations. Return to him with your heart and soul. Deuteronomy 29: Renewal of God's Covenant Collin Leong. September 14, 2026 (v1-29)  The Covenant Renewed In Moab (v1) These are the words of the covenant that the LORD commanded Moses to make with the people of Israel in the land of Moab, besides the covenant that he had made with them at Horeb. Exp:  Moses repeat the laws plus additional details in Moab since the first time in Horeb (Mt. Sinai). God wants Moses to renew the Covenant with this current generation.  (v2-4) Moses summoned all Israel and said to them: "You have seen all that the LORD did before your eyes in the land of Egypt, to Pharoah and to all his servants and to all his land, the great trials that your eyes saw, the signs, and those great wonders. But to this day the LORD has not given you a heart to understand or eyes to see or ears to hear." Exp: Moses recalls the experience some of them had when they came out of Egypt - these are the ones who were 20 years old or less, since the older ones have died...

September 13, 2026 (v1-14) Blessings for Obedience (v1-6) "And if you faithfully obey the voice of the LORD, being careful to do all his commandments, the LORD will set you high above all the nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you obey the voice of the LORD your God.  Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground and the fruit of you cattle, the increase of your herds and the young of your flock. Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.
